Title: Interviewer's biases as a determinant in industrial workers recruitment
Authors: Thai Thi Yen Binh
Keywords: Blue-collar workers;Interview;Common biases
Issue Date: 2017
Publisher: Vietnamese-German University
Abstract:
The interview is the most widely used employment selection method, but has revealed low reliability and validity compared to other selection methods, and bias is one of the root causes (Mayfield, 1964; Ulrich and Trumbo 1965; Schmitt 1976). This paper will study common biases in blue-collar worker recruitments based on the analysis of job characteristics and interview methods. The solutions for minimizing biases and enhancing interview quality are then statistically tested.
