Issue Date: 2025
Abstract:
Sustainability has become an irreversible global trend, with international and regional trade organizations encouraging governments and enterprises to incorporate sustainable practices into their strategies. In Vietnam, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role in economic growth and hold significant potential to contribute to the transition toward a green economy. However, many Vietnamese SMEs face considerable challenges in adopting sustainability initiatives, particularly in balancing limited current capacities with long-term sustainability objectives. This study examines effective strategies to enhance sustainability performance in SME operations. Through an in-depth case study of the automotive industry, the research provides practical insights and guidance on how Vietnamese SMEs can overcome key challenges, integrate sustainability into their operations, and improve long-term competitiveness while strengthening environmental responsibility.
