Abstract: 
The aim of this thesis is to design and prototype a smart work–assembly station integrated and equipped with the hardware that can enable a more efficient assembly environment for the operators. The final prototype acts as an aid to the learning process for assembly newcomers through the digital approach of guiding, mitigating the defects during the product assembly by adopting the Jidoka principle, and enabling transparency in data gathering through the application of the Internet of Things
