Title: | Research on fault detection methods for bidirectional dc-dc converters in the battery energy storage system (bess) of the DC microgrid | Authors: | Dinh Trinh Minh Khoi Huynh Thanh Tung |
Keywords: | Boost convertor;DC microgrids | Issue Date: | 2023 | Abstract: | In the battery energy storage system, the bidirectional DC–DC converter fault detection and identification methods are discussed in this study. In this system, faults frequently occur in the components and the grounding, and if we do not find them in time, they could cause the BESS or even the entire PV system to function instability and or be damaged. The foundational theory of our project's system, including the Bidirectional DC–DC Converter, BESS, DC Microgrid, and its grounding topologies, must be displayed in order to acknowledge about fault detections in the system. Following that, each fault that occurs in the system—whether it be a Line to Line and Line to Ground— will be examined and analyzed. Then, the suggested solutions will be shown. In total, ten ways have been suggested in the article, each of which includes a unique way to find, identify, isolate, and deal with flaws. Although, there only four of them chosen to be proceeded due to the limitation of time and hardware. After that, the real-time implementation and experimental testing results will be demonstrated to make the final conclusion about the benefits and cons of those methods |
