Abstract: 
In this study, a new design of adaptive switching controller is presented. A dual sliding surface of sliding mode control and a modified Riccati-like equation of optimal control are combined as a hybrid controller for vibration. The interval type 2 fuzzy model is also embedded in the proposed control for uncertainty. The proposed control is simulated in the suspension system featuring smart damper with magnetorheological fluid (MR). Simulation results show that the proposed control is good performance and can use for real system
