| dc.description.abstract | Applications with their own databases for storing users’ data are becoming less popular nowadays. Instead, in order to engage more customers, it is better for applications to use the users’ data from popular social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Among them, Facebook is the largest social network in 2020 with approximately 2.7 billion monthly active users worldwide [1]. A way for applications to get data in and out of Facebook is to use the Facebook API. For this case study, I develop a web application for the canteen business at university. By integrating the Facebook API into the application, the users can login to the application using their Facebook accounts. Therefore, the application can engage more users from Facebook. The thesis explains the concept of the Facebook API and explores the use of it to develop the canteen web application | en_US |
