dc.description.abstractWith the rapid advance of technology, software application became more complex and required a large amount of data to be processed. Hence, data modelling becomes a crucial task in today’s software system. Model-driven engineering is a software development methodology that focuses on creating and exploiting models to write and implement software quickly at minimum cost. The modelling process is mostly done using graphical languages like EntityRelationship Model(ERM) or Unified Modelling Language (UML) but it is possible to use a full and comprehensive textual language that can enhance the modeller performance and experience. Therefore, to accomplish the goal, an intelligent web-based editor for data modelling is implemented. The application contains all the benefits of a web application while having the performance of a native code editor. The editor using JSON to represent data models and has built-in features like syntax highlight, auto-completion, and syntax validator to automate the modelling process. The application is built based on open-source technologies and JavaScript to have better development time and flexibility. The project also proposes how the web’s designs and architecture can be organized. The primary technologies used for this thesis are VueJS and ACE editor open-source library. The technologies, theoretical background in this project are thoroughly described. All things considered, the web application core architecture system is simple, maintainable and extensible for future improvements.en_US
