Title: | Wastewater treatment in fish processing industry using membrane bioreactor (MBR) | Authors: | Dinh Hoang Anh | Keywords: | Environment;Fishery industry;Wastewater;Automotive system;Online tracking program;Membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology;Networking;Pilot-scale process | Issue Date: | 2019 | Publisher: | Vietnamese-German University | Abstract: | The main environmental problem of fishery industries are high water consumption and high organic matter, oil, grease and salt content in their wastewater. This work aims to analyze the possibility of different plants for fish processing company which located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Vietnam. Thus, it was initially made an identification about polluted situation in company area and surroundings. Then, after carefully consideration, Membrane Bioreactor technology seem to be adapted strict requirements about wastewater treatment efficiency, discharge water quality and operation cost in reality. As a part of commercial contract between University and company, we take careful evaluation the possibility to bring this novel technology from laboratory to the real factory. The main purpose of the thesis is processing collected data while we ran a pilot scale system in Baseafood Comp. One small MBR system with 100 litters volume which is designed by Vietnamese- German University Laboratory (VGU Lab) base on supporting from Hochschule Kaslsruhe (HsKA) is the most suitableā¦ for testing and handling all the risks when we apply this novel technology into industrial case. After five months trial, the pilot machine mostly past the water discharge standard of Baseafood Comp. We collected so many good results while running this project, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) value is lower than 50 milligrams per litters, total Nitrogen (TN) is also lower than 35 mil/l. treated wastewater has been reached most of Vietnam Wastewater discharged Standard, proved the possibility to apply this system effectively into wastewater treatment in Vietnam. The remaining require is stability of the system in extreme weather condition in Vietnam. Additionally, also the high operating cost is preventing this powerful technology become popular in Vietnam. Last but not least, based on incurred requirements while running this project, we tried to improve our automotive system with the new feature which allow engineers to access and control everywhere. A web service has been built for online monitoring and controlling, system data could be collected online in the most convenient way. Online tracking program is activated while machine is running to control all system parameters. Collected data is updated to cloud storage server for more convenience in accessing and handling while in emergency case. |
