In comparison to previous generations, according to Calvin Newport (2012), a professor at Georgetown University, though Generation Y is known for being cooperative, confident, flexible and optimistic about future than the others, they are also known as a less loyal generation when it comes to working attitude and being named as the hardest generation to maintain in the workforce. Additionally, Generation Y also prefers a high paying job and an organization which have a vivid vision and direction so that they can be offered a good chance to foster their career. As Generation Y is gradually replacing the older generations in the labor workforce, the primary goal of this research is to study Generation Y in the context of Vietnam banking industry, one of the most importance industry in the economy. Based on the outcome of this study, human resource managers at banks can have an overall understanding around the factors that constitute Generation Y’s satisfaction at work, and derive the appropriate strategies to keep their talents, as well as limit the negative impacts of high turnover rates causing by leaving employees.en_US
