The objectives of this thesis are firstly, to support decision makers on investment in recycling and remanufacturing systems in Vietnam, and secondly, to propose a roadmap to use recycling and remanufacturing strategies in this country with the focus on policy reforms. For the first objective, the material flow analysis of current production - consumption pattern must be done prior to economic feasibility assessment in order to realize value-added opportunities for resource recovery. In this thesis, the integration of a material flow analysis (MFA) tool and cost benefit analysis (CBA) method is used for quantifying and comparing economic benefits gained from the transition towards a circular production-consumption pattern as compared to the baseline one. For the second goal, the analysis of stakeholder perspectives focusing on manufacturers and consumers will be implemented in order to grasp their interests in developing circular manufacturing strategies and then implications for public investment in comprehensive legislative frameworks are recommended based on expected results. From these policy suggestions, a proposed roadmap for using circular manufacturing options is presented in the end of this thesis as a reference for Vietnamese policy makers to accelerate the shift to a CE in the future.en_US
