dc.description.abstractMany assembly operations are complex, for this reason, manual assembly lines remain the best efficient solution in different contexts, especially in nowadays production environment changing from mass customization to personalized production. Demand for efficient workforce planning in manual assembly lines is naturally increasing since it plays an important role in enabling the competition of enterprises. This thesis will propose effective optimization models along with simulation approaches in order to propose an efficient tool for workforce planning in multi-manned manual assembly lines. This thesis proposes a procedure to evaluate multi-manned manual assembly lines in terms of workforce planning through the assembly line balancing methods and simulation tool for single and multiple products.en_US
