dc.description.abstractPolishing is one of the main finishing processes in Manufacturing which is used for many applications such as dimensional accuracy or surface finish for a part, or the workpiece material that is too hard or too brittle to process. However, in polishing process very small chips are removed by using very fine grits of abrasives to achieve surface finish so it is important to understand the behavior of polishing techniques. In this thesis, experiments will be conducted to find out the effects of machine's parameters such as the velocity of workpiece, the velocity of abrasive and the pressure for friction on the surface roughness of final workpiece within different time frames. The main goal of this master thesis is to know more about the behaviors of polishing machine parameters which influence the results of surface roughness on workpiece through different time frames. Thus experiments will be conducted with each process parameters at three levels and three different time durations. Then, the resulted workpiece surface roughness will be measured to analyze the influence of different parameters on surface roughness of workpiece.en_US
