| dc.description.abstract | This research gives a brief overview of current status and prospective future of P2P lending in Southeast Asia. Unlike the United States, the United Kingdom and China where P2P lending was established a decade ago nearly reach its mature. In Southeast Asia, P2P lending or marketplace lending has been imported into the region and recently become a brand new concept. The markets are young yet they promise to flourish with full of opportunities from the market force to the regulatory environment. Moreover, it is suggested that banks and P2P lending platforms should collaborate to enhance access to credit for small and medium-sized enterprises - the backbone of Southeast Asian economy. | en_US |
