| dc.description.abstract | Employees are importantly considered as a basic pillar of organizational development that has an important key role to play in all organizational activities. Employees can perform their tasks when they are given necessary skills, knowledge, abilities, and access to information about organizational objectives and goals (Saremi, 2015). It is suggested that employees should be encouraged to be actively involved in the functions and activities of the organization (Lawler, 1992). Because of the importance of employee involvement in the organization, all organizations aim to produce a workplace where employees are truly cared and considered as part of ownership to enable them to strive for better results. Therefore, employee empowerment is developed as an approach to management in the response to the need for the world competition. Empowerment aims to retain employee from leaving the organization and enhance their feelings of satisfaction (Yasothai, Jauhar, & Bashawir, 2015). There is an undeniable fact that a well-managed human practice is one of the most crucial factors of organization's success. With the purpose to prolong employee commitment and enhance employee on-going performance, a deep understanding of how to design a working system should be developed indeed. In the fast pace of development in human resource area, there are several impactful factors of work system designs. Many companies are reaping surprising gains by empowering employee, giving employees more authority over their jobs through work design. However, some companies fail to recognize the linkage between employee empowerment and work system design. The present study will seek to find a relationship between employee empowerment and work system design in the workplace by answering the following research question: How work system designs impact on employee empowerment? This research will emphasize on effective practice of employee empowerment. It is expected to provide insightful and comprehensive understanding about the influence of different dimensions of work system design on employee empowerment. The findings of this research are hoped to create new knowledge to dedicate to the development of one organization and to be a foundation or reference for another study in the future. | en_US |
