| dc.description.abstract | After reunification in 1975, Vietnam has suffered difficult ten-year-period. It is until 1986 that Vietnamese immature economy has become stronger with some considerable achievements. In spite of those achievements, Vietnam still has some problems in developing its economy in general and income distribution in specific. There is a myriad of researches on income inequality in Vietnam, however, the number of studies putting more weight on the lower income group is small. Thereupon, the main purpose of this thesis is to inform a detail of income inequality evolution in Vietnam from 2004 to 2014. The thesis uses VHLSS data to measure Gini Index and Atkinson Index, which are the two popular income inequality measures, in Vietnam from 2004 to 2014. The result of the data shows that the income disparity in Vietnam is relatively high over years. In addition, there is a remarkable caveat that the income gap between the lowest income group and the others becomes everenlarging in a decade. In the conclusion, there would be some policy recommendations as well as further researches suggestions for the problem of income inequality in Vietnam. | en_US |
