How important is an understanding of risks inter-relation in manufacturing industry? Given the increasingly global demand of goods in all types, I believe it is very important. For Asia is the largest continent with biggest population all over the world, manufacturing industry is one of the leading economical elements. My paper aims to deliver a closer look of how risk types link together, how they may act as determinants and consequences to the others, via some case studies, chosen amongst those that leave significant impacts on regional and global economies. The thesis delivers brief theory on how risk types interact to form a so called “risk chain”, and how some well-known methods consider the relation between risks. For particularly, the paper will focus on two economies, though not far from each other geometrically, have very different characteristics, Japan for an example of developed and stable country, and Vietnam, for a demonstration of developing country with large potential, yet both have different challenge to overcome. Finally, a suggestion on how risk should have been assessed in those cases, which shall reveal how under-estimates risks inter-relation was to those organizations is raised, with a reference that to look at the inter-faces of risk, a combination of mathematics and scenario analysis for both quantitative and qualitative forecasts of risk is the best solution to applyen_US
