Title: | Control software for printed circuit board milling machine | Authors: | Dao Huu Minh Triet | Keywords: | CNC;Printed Circuit board;PCB milling;Bilinear interpolation;G-code | Issue Date: | 2018 | Publisher: | Vietnamese-German University | Abstract: | The current PCB milling machine I am working on is using simple G-code sender software and there is a problem when trying to create finely etched products with a CNC machine when the substrate is not at the same height uniformly. Even slight variations in height can cause the drill bit to be too high in some places but too low in others across the work-area, causing varying degrees of disastrous effect. To tackle this problem, I created a software tool to adapt a G-code script and access the more advanced techniques such as bilinear interpolation and regular text expressions so that the software will first probe the substrate's board to be engraved then use the values gathered during probing to modify the height in the original G-code file. myCNC can be used to transform almost any Gcode script but it was designed mainly for CNC PCB milling enthusiast. |
