Nowadays, the majority of the human-computer interaction is based on mechanical devices such as keyboards, mouse, joysticks or gamepads. In this thesis, a hand gesture recognition method is developed which does not require additional support devices. Due to the time limitation, the work focuses on proposing a systematic algorithm for recognizing number of fingers present in the captured image frame.
