In general design, the function of the robot that it can detect the location of the owner, and then it follows him or her in every steps and keeps a constant distance between master object and slave object. Base on the situation of facilities in the Electrical Engineering Information Technology laboratories in the Vietnamese-German University (VGU), there are many RP6-robots that are available. That would be perfect for the thesis because of their systematic, extensibility and applicability. This platform can be applied many functions in many modules from another manufacturers that can meet the requirements of the project. The next thing needs to be discussed is the detection module. The slave robot can recognize its owner by lots of solutions. After comparison all the ideas, the final suitable answer is the Adafruit FONA Cellular for GPS tracking. From GPS-NMEA sentences– which received from GPS module, that give that specific location and we can measure the distance between master and slave. Beside of the GPS module, the design must have the sensor that can detect the headings of the RP6 robot and heading of the owner. From both of these values, it can measure that exactly directions for the robot to move and follow the owner. From the design, master and slave object must be communicated together, however, unfortunately, the GPS module contains Bluetooth module, but the available version in lab does not have it. So, I decide to use a RF module to replace the Bluetooth module for transmitting/receiving GPS and headings data. By working on this project, I believe that it has given me a lot of knowledge and experiments on electrical field, special in Robotics. This challenge gives me a chance to study and use my own effort to design the function “Following man” on the RP6 platform.en_US
