dc.description.abstractOptical Character Recognition (OCR) has been applied widely in automatic recognition systems such as number plate recognition, name card reader or some real-time writing application on mobile devices. Although this is a very interesting technology and has been researched by the scientists for a very long time, there are still many aspects remained for the system improvement. The purpose of this thesis is to introduce and implement one of the most popular OCR technique. Specifically in this thesis, the basic components and involved image processing methods are investigated in this thesis. Experimental results to evaluate performance and robustness of the implemented OCR system are presented as well.en_US
