In 21st century, human life has become so much better due to advance technology. One of the most prominent technology is digital system, which helps human in communication, in transportation, in entertaining and in medication. Most of them are real-time system, a system that operate and response with the time limitation, and thus required a real-time operating system (RTOS) to operate. In this thesis, the concept of RTOS is studied, and the application is demonstrated through the use of an ARM Cortex-M microcontroller to control a 4-Wheel Security robot, which is required to be controlled by a 3-channel remote controller (RC), stop when there are obstacle in front, and displaying information on a display unit. There are three main chapter in this thesis, in which the first two will present the knowledge in an ARM Cortex-M microcontroller, or specifically the STM32F407 Discovery, including its peripherals such as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Input Capture Unit (ICU), Inter- Integrated Circuit (I2C), Universal Synchronous Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (USART), and in RTOS with its features like threads scheduling, thread priority, semaphore, message, and mailbox. The third chapter will combine these knowledge to program a 4- Wheel security robot to archive its requirement.en_US
