Recently, a branch of this area such as trustworthiness among users has been recognized as a trust degree that shows how much the relay nodes can be trusted for cooperation. Trust degree, known as a crucial parameter in cooperative communication, plays a vital role in the effectiveness of the transmission from the transmitter to the receiver. The objective of this thesis is to examine the trust degree in cooperative communication compared to the direct transmission for achievable rates and secrecy rates by applying some proposed strategies and optimal strategy in each scenario. In the first scenario, with the presence of a single potential eavesdropper (PE), it is considered that to maximize an expected secrecy rate, based on the threshold of trust degree, the optimal transmission strategy and corresponding power allocation are acquired. Moreover, the expected secrecy rate loss caused by an estimation error of the trust degree is investigated to inspect the impact of the accuracy of the trust degree, and the robust power allocation is provided based on imperfect trust degree. Consequently, the extending case for this scenario is the existence of many PEs. Numerical results concerning this scenario show that the performance of the data transmission exploiting the trust degree is better than that without using the trust degree. The second scenario is to study the efficiency of a beamforming design by considering the trust degree of a single relay node which cooperates the transmission from the transmitter to the receiver in the multiple-input-single-output (MISO) cooperative communication system. For an achievable rate, the optimal transmit beamformer is formed as a linear combination of channel vectors weighted by trust degrees. A related simulation result shows that by exploiting the trust degree between nodes on the beamforming design, the achievable rate can be enlarged. The last scenario is the extending case of the second scenario in which two relay nodes participate in the data transmission. For the given trust degrees and channel condition, it is considered that there are three transmission strategies: relay selection strategy, cooperative transmission strategy, and optimal transmission strategy which combines two mentioned strategies. The simulation results of the last scenario indicate that the expected achievable rate can be increased by exploiting the trust degrees between two relay nodes as well as the channel conditions. |
