| dc.description.abstract | Vietnam’s manufacturing sector is poised for transformation to achieve sustainable growth and close the gap with developed nations, aiming to become a “strong and smart manufacturing Vietnam.” Smart production is a key strategy for Industry 4.0 adaptation, enabling firms to enhance productivity, quality, and competitiveness. This thesis investigates strategies to upgrade existing manufacturing capacities, focusing on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and assessing technological readiness, financial capabilities, and organizational preparedness. A survey was conducted to evaluate current conditions, obstacles, and needs for digital transformation. The study combines literature review, case studies, and hybrid methodologies to analyze technical, organizational, and financial challenges, including high production costs, insufficient infrastructure, and skill gaps. Proposed strategies provide practical solutions for transitioning to Industry 4.0, improving interdepartmental connectivity, operational efficiency, and product quality. The findings offer a roadmap not only for Vietnam but also for other developing countries seeking industrial modernization and smart manufacturing adoption. | en_US |
