Title: A pragmatic approach to provide voter anonymity in I-voting
Authors: Pham Minh Huy
Keywords: I-voting;E-voting;Unlinkability;Anonymity
Issue Date: 2022
Abstract:
In the last twenty years, Electronic voting and Internet voting has changed from theoretical research to practical application. Throughout the years, elections utilizing e-voting protocols can be seen worldwide, either on a large scale or a small scale. Voter anonymity is the most elementary requirement for any E voting protocol. This property of anonymity, also known under the term “unlinkability”, provides privacy for the voter, as it means a voter cannot be linked to a vote they cast. No one except the authority can access or connect the relationship between them. There have been many proposed E-voting protocols in the last twenty years. This thesis aims to present a pragmatic approach to ensure unlinkability is achieved during an I-voting period. By examining a country-level E-voting protocol, the Estonian I-voting system, this paper proposes a prototype of I-voting system in the context of students giving reviews on their lecturers at Vietnamese German University while maintaining their anonymity
