Today, people seem to have more money than previous generations thanks to economic growth, globalization, and needless to say, inflation and currency devaluation. However, the financial literacy doesn’t appear to grow proportionally. Many studies have shown that a large number of adults are financially illiterate, parents rarely discuss money in front of children and schools haven’t offered personal finance courses for students, that cause people overwhelmed with financial products, misinterpret advertisements, and make lots of costly mistakes. Personal finance is not just about spending money, but saving, planning for retirement, investing and more. It is beneficial for the financial stability and well-being of an invidual or a family. This research’s purpose is to create awareness about the importance of personal finance, provide necessary financial literacy, then propose a practical model and application to manage personal finance effectively. The findings of this research indicate that although many people are lacking financial literacy, personal finance is not too hard to understand. It is more about applying basic knowledge in daily financial decisions and form better financial behaviors. The proposed model and application of this research can be used nicely by an individual or a family to manage finance, or used as the basis for further researches and more advanced applicationsen_US
