dc.description.abstractFor years, the Oil and Gas industry has been a driving force in worldwide economic growth. The oil and gas industry has a long history of pioneering new technologies but when it comes to digitization, the industry lags far behind most other sectors of the economy. Despite the fact that the benefits can be enormous, throughout most of the previous decades, the Oil and Gas industry has found it difficult to transform itself by leveraging digital technologies. Following a period of financial turmoil, it has become clear that the oil and gas industry requires transformations, as a result, many companies in the Oil and Gas industry have been starting their digital transformation journey, some of them have successfully used digitalization to gain control in today's fast-paced environment but in total, the revolution of digital technology in Oil and Gas industry has yet to fully materialize, the Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co., Ltd (an upstream company of ENEOS Holding - Japan) is a case in point. The company would like to conduct a thorough investigation into all available options for improving production sustainability and operational efficiency through the use of digital technology. The goal of this thesis is to pick out opportunities and challenges then made recommendations for the implementation strategy, roadmap and model for digital transformation project in upstream oil and gas companies. Briefly, it is about creating a blueprint or guideline for the upstream Oil & Gas companies, who want to do the digital transformation. The practical applicability of this blueprint was examined in a business case of Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co., Ltd.en_US
