This study aims to find the best percentage of urban vegetation in the area inside of District 4 in Ho Chi Minh city to minimize the urban heat island effect. Ho Chi Minh City has a tropical climate with high temperatures during the warmer months. The area selected for the study is characterized by a high building density and large population. A study based on ENVI-met software compares the air-cooling efficiency for 3 different greening options in the site under consideration: 1) the current state, 2) a scenario with an increase in the number of green roofs till 30%, 3) a scenario with an increase the number of green roofs by 60%. In addition, the study compares the results on the influence of various options for greening urban areas on the thermal comfort, air quality, green roofs potential to struggle climate change.en_US
