Title: Analytical hierarchy process for supplier selection
Authors: Ngo Thi Ngoc Ha
Keywords: Analytical hierarchy process;Supplier selection
Issue Date: 2019
Publisher: Vietnamese-German University
Abstract:
The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been widely applied as a decisionmaking model for managers by organizations around the world since the 1980s, but how it applies to a manufacturing company in Vietnam has almost not been explored. Using the studies of Thomas L. Saaty as the basis, this paper mainly aims to provide an empirical case study of a manufacturing company in Vietnam and see how good AHP reflects reality. The model will answer the question Which is the best supplier for VCI papers?. It includes eleven parameters to evaluate the performance of four suppliers coming from four different countries. The result points out that AHP can be considered an appropriate guide for purchasing managers in supplier selection and can indirectly affects the survival of a corporation
