dc.description.abstract | It is commonly believed that the foundation and development of organization culture have a strong interconnection with long-term development of the institution, not only the culture in communication but also in key values, internal rules, leadership style, behaviors, and attitudes of every member in that institution. Therefore, by applying Hofstede's cultural dimension model, this paper aims at discovering the propensity for behaviors and attitudes from individuals who are currently working in banking industry in Vietnam. In particular, with an approach to explore the masculinity and femininity dimension, we can determine whether the banking community follows an assertive culture or a modest culture. The thesis will collect opinions of 50 participants who are working in such industry on four variables suggested by Hofstede for the dimension that are in recognition for good performance, corporation in the workplace, living area and promotion opportunity. Subsequently, a quantitative analysis is conducted to analyze and conclude the main features in the organizational culture of this population in comparison with Vietnam as a whole. The implication of the findings is that the culture of banking industry in Vietnam is more masculineoriented in comparison to Vietnam national culture as a whole since people working in such industry grade two masculine variables as the most important factors among four variables which were analyzed. Lastly, some suggestions will be provided so as to obtain a more effective banking system in Vietnam, both internally and externally | en_US |
