However, the research on the FDI-income inequality nexus for the case of Vietnam is still limited. This paper explores the relationship between FDI and income inequality by employing panel fixed effect with interaction model and provincial-level data from the Vietnam Household Standards Survey during the period from 2004 to 2016. The findings suggest that FDI alone does not have any significant impact on income inequality. However, FDI increases income inequality indirectly through monthly income per capita channel. The result implies that besides taking the advantages of the FDI inflow, it is necessary to pay more attention to each molecule that constitutes the society to reduce the income gap between classes |
