Title: Mechanical design and prototype development of a smart feeder system in shrimp aquaculture
Authors: Nguyen Phuong Nam
Keywords: Mechanical design;Smart feeder system;Shrimp aquaculture management
Issue Date: 2020
Abstract:
Shrimp aquaculture in Vietnam plays an important role in bringing farmers with high profit. Feeding process in shrimp aquaculture is traditionally time-consuming with much requirement of labor forces. Other insures are that the amount of food and its record might not be able to be determined precisely. This cause plays a key role in generating a considerable waste of food in shrimp ponds and leads to a toxic factor for water quality. Thus, new feeding systems must be developed and used in order to maximize profit, eliminate the risks, and especially optimize the amount of food. In recent years, several domestic groups have developed smart shrimp feeding systems to meet demands of farmers in shrimp aquaculture. However, these systems still always require a manual operation of users, the high cost, low efficiency with records. In this thesis, the research is to develop and test a smart feeding control and regulating system automatically in shrimp aquaculture to improve the efficiency of feeding tasks and reduce time and effort of farmers.
