Unlike previous research where monitoring systems are considered important factors in the fight against money laundering, this study focuses on the role humans play in this ceaseless combat. To deal with the escalating scale of the phenomenon, this paper goes against the majority of research in which technology-based techniques are largely applied by suggesting an affordable remedy to the problem. In particular, a refined version of the so-called list experiment is proposed to extract information on internal financial violations from bank branch officers, which can either prevent money laundering in a timely manner or make money launderers face deserving punishments |
