Abstract: 
This model and many of its variants have been widely studied and have various applications in reality which, in turn, have helped further
develop the Theory of Self-organized Criticality. Some characteristics of SPM and SSPM are discussed rather extensively. More importantly, the thesis scrutinizes special cases of SSPM – the addition of grains to an SSPM fixed point. Besides, it is found that special cases of SSPM and SPM are similar, proving that the findings in SSPM can be transferable to SPM. The purpose of this study is to implement the simulation for SPM. Based on this, the extension of the same approach to Symmetric Sandpile Model (SSPM) and
special cases of SPM as well as SSPM is also presented.
