dc.description.abstractWith various advantages, computer network has become a necessity in business companies around the world. To protect the network, monitor system has been an indispensable part in a computer network. As the computer science has developed, monitor system has been able to obtain new methods to improve the ability to protect a network and, simultaneously, encountered new challenges. With machine learning, monitor system can acquire the capability to observe the server activities and learn the normal patterns so that the monitor system can prevent new risks that have not been encountered. While, regarding new challenges, virtualization has been integrated into computer network, which allows the network to quickly create virtual network components such as routers and switches without deploying new hardware. With virtualization, computer network can rapidly change its structure or topology. However, the network can implicitly relocate the backbone roles to unexpected devices, which are not prepared to proceed huge data wave. This behavior may cause big damage to the network and create vulnerabilities in the system that can leak sensitive data. This document aims to demonstrate separate approaches that can address the potential issue caused by the virtualization technology in computer network. In addition, the document also propose a machine learning model design, which is tailored according to a particular server, to detect potential threats in a server activities by learning the collected normal behaviorsen_US
