The direct contact method of heat sealing utilizes a constantly sealing bar to apply heat to a specific contact path to weld the thermoplastics together. This process is the final step of manufacturer to ship their qualified products to customer. So, failed on controlling sealing process might lead to customer complain and harmful to company reputation. Nowadays, more and more semiconductor manufacturers are selecting Tape-and Reel packaging for their sensitive chips and other components for protecting their products as well as ensuring the good quality to customer. The Tape-and-Reel process which protects against mechanical, handling damage and is designed to support the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) operation. Embossed carrier tape securely holds parts in place and allows easy feeding into automatic placement equipment in both manufacturer and customer. Currently, controlling sealing process in Intel Vietnam is based on human experience which cannot measure and evaluate a good maintenance and what error types of seal heads that need to be fixed before return to production. Understanding the potential of quality issue might happen, the idea of the thesis would like to design a module which operator can test seal head functionality and peeling force before install to machine for running production. |
