Title: | Operation and design parameter analysis to improve the performance of plastic injection molding machine using experimental study | Authors: | Le Hoang Nhan | Keywords: | Injection molds;Surface response method;Optimal parameter setting | Issue Date: | 2019 | Publisher: | Vietnamese-German University | Abstract: | This master thesis study about how to operating and trouble-shoot problems of injection molding machine. It also proposes a systematic optimized workflow to determine the optimal parameter settings. Firstly, the Design of Experiment (DOE) is applied for experimentation, data collection and analysis. The quality characteristics for the plastic injection product are main dimensions (length, width, and diameter), weight and warpage. The control factors for the process are melt temperature, injection velocity, packing pressure, packing time and cooling time. Secondly, Signal-to-noise (S/N) analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA) are employed to get a combination of parameter settings. Finally, Experimental data are associated with Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to obtain an optimal combination of process parameters that meets multiple-objective quality characteristics. As the result, the optimal parameter settings is found for the molding from Sumitomo (third angle projector). |
