Title: | Online identity - a study of usability on online presence | Authors: | Luu Dai Giang | Keywords: | Online identity | Issue Date: | 2016 | Publisher: | Vietnamese-German University | Abstract: | In recent years, a strong brand has become crucial to any business, with online identity being in the center of the brand. This research will illustrate various concepts about online identity with the main definition being the perception about the company of online visitors. The perception of online identity is formed through various components, with website usability being the main element. Usability can be interpreted as the level of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction that website user can have in the process of using the website. In particular, there are two determinants of the level of usability, namely information content and website design characteristics. It is shown that there are certain standards for website usability to be good including effective display of information, efficient tools to achieve objectives and aesthetic design. However, as being analyzed in the sample analysis, a website is also required to take account into the perception of the users, considering carefully their demographic traits, psychological thinking and cultural factors influencing the perception of aestheticism. To fully understand and utilize usability to enhance online identity positivity, future research should have a comprehensive investigation into the impact of each design to the level of usability. |
