Title: | Study, design, and fabrication of a 3D printed arm cast | Authors: | Ngo Huy Luan | Keywords: | 3D printing;Fabrication;Design | Issue Date: | 2023 | Abstract: | This project focuses on the process of making and testing a 3D printed arm cast. The project starts with obtaining a 3D model of an arm, a Sense scanner was used as it was the only reliable option available. Then the 3D scanned arm was imported into the nTopology (nTop) software to set up an automated process based on the current arm for all subsequent 3D arm models. When the 3D arm cast model has been completed, it is printed at a 3D printing company as a sample model. The sample model is too hard to test realistically so instead, the real-life test is carried out on small test tube and the data obtained will be compared to the simulation data on nTop. |
