Title: | Development and prototypical implementation of drive concepts for a bionic articulated arm robot | Authors: | Long Mai Bui Quoc | Keywords: | Bionic articulated;Robot arm;Prototypical implementation | Issue Date: | 2019 | Abstract: | This thesis is written as a requirement of the “Mechanical Engineering” Bachelor at Vietnamese-German University. It reports the content of my working progress during the last semester of the program at Ruhr University, which is an approach to a new power transmission for a bionic lightweight robot arm based on lightweight principles. The main context is mostly concerned and argued not only between developed systems but also the previous ones before bringing out an advanced prototype into real life. In details, current design concept is the base to carry out further prototypical implementation. It is an articulated arm robot consisting of only one tension chord for each arm segment. The geometry of these artificial limbs already exists. In this paper, the left work is to develop and perform a drive chain that can move individually both arm segments, not dependent on each other like the old versions and increase the number of lifting strings. The complexity in design rises due to the higher order in degrees of freedom and redundant force introduction. To fulfill the final goal of this bachelor thesis, existing rope-operated models are studied and analyzed. Afterward, a list of requirements is established to brainstorm and develop new drive concepts. With the help of technical and economic criteria, a suitable concept is selected and implemented constructively in the Solidworks CAD program. Finally, the design is manufactured additively and assembled with the necessary parts required. |
