Title: | Leakage (IP67) test process and equipment for sensors series production | Authors: | Le Quang Tinh | Keywords: | Environment;IP67;Leak-tight;Sensor series production;Leakage test process | Issue Date: | 2014 | Publisher: | Vietnamese-German University | Abstract: | Due to very strictly requirements from industries as well as private applications nowadays such as working in extremely hazard, moisture and dusty environment, so the sensor need to be tight to be able to protect itself against dust as well as moisture ingression. Due to the fact that, everything leaks; absolute tightness is only theoretical, in reality, nothing can truly be absolute leak-tight, the permeation of gas or liquid still occurs, it is just a matter of time, so tightness is only a relative term, and in this case, unless it fulfills IP67 standard, it will be considerate as leak-tight. To fulfill with the norm, an immersion in water for 30 minutes and drying later is needed, so testing with air or trace gas will prefer in this case for reducing time, effort as well as more correctly. Beside those advantages, it still has some problems itself such as if product has very small internal volume so the change in pressure cause by whether the DUT is leak or not will nearly nothing and cannot be detected accurately anymore. In this study, the air leak test principle, the investigation, implementation and improvement both for machine and process will also be considerate. |
