dc.description.abstract | Many companies in manufacturing field must have their own machines to provide products and deliver to their customers to earn money. Capability of each manufacturer depends on its yield performance and productivity by how many units it can produce in a period of time. The purpose is to produce as many and fast as possible based on demand of its customers, resulting to the machines need to run in max capability and full time to maximize tools’ utilization so that the companies reach the highest revenue and reduce cost/product to be more competitive with their companies in the same field. However, running in max utilization and full time, the machines are potentially broken down at any time causes machines’ downtime which reduces productivity. The only way for the companies to survive is to improve current performance to be more competitive in terms of total cost, quality, and reliability of products. One of the most important method to improve current performance is people who are working in factory always need to focus on tools performance and look into detail of either process or design of hardware or software for improvement. Regarding to machine’s performance, availability of machine (MA) defines its productivity by dividing available time the machine can produce products over total time. The higher of MA, the more outputs machine can produce and the higher revenue company can earn. | en_US |
