dc.description.abstract | In this thesis ongoing production process layout of shoe making industry is studied and a new layout will be developed based on the systematic layout planning theory to reduce production cost and increase productivity. The number of equipment and travelling area of material in shoe production has been analyzed. To understand the detailed plant layout such as operation process duration, activity relationship of one process to another process and relationship between equipment and area has been investigated. Used the basic concepts of Lean technology such as, Takt time, Work In Process, Kanban and Pull System for the production process of shoe making industry. Determination the new plant layout has been designed and compared with existing plant layout. The new plant layout shows that the distance and overall cost of material flow from ware house to dispatch area are significantly decreased. Analyzing and proofing the result by Tecnomatix Plant Simulation 12 software. Systematically implements the technique of Systematic Layout Planning method that provides new plant layout significantly decrease the distance of material flow from raw material storage to packing area. | en_US |
