Title: | Design, fabrication and testing of magnetorheological damper for prosthetic leg | Authors: | Nguyen Anh Vu | Keywords: | Magnetorheological damper;Prosthetic leg | Issue Date: | 2023 | Abstract: | This thesis was produced to fulfill the requirements for the Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's Degree at the Vietnamese-German University. The goal of this project is to design, fabricate and testing of a MR damper for prosthetic leg applications, In a period of continuous technological development with the development of all kinds of technologies that support smooth operation of mechanical mechanisms. With an interest in human augmentation industry, which focus on replicate and improve human body function regards to both physical and cognitive function. With the invention of many advance augmented body parts that perform better compared to our body parts available at birth such as high precision surgeon robot that can assist the surgeon to perform surgery in specifically high risk part of our body. Prosthetic running amputees can run back to their full strength and get the same speed as due to the leg lightweight and flexible feature of the material allowing them to run effortlessly. And in the robot industry, many humanoid robots have been researched and designed so that they can stand on their two legs with an integrated control system so that they can provide self-stability by controlling the stiffness of the limb so that it can detect the change in center of gravity and adjust the positioning accordingly. In which the MR damper pose as the suitable mechanism to achieve variable stiffness control |
