Title: | Javascript source code protection through obfuscation | Authors: | Phan Nguyen Long | Keywords: | Code obfuscation;JavaScript source code protection;Obfuscator | Issue Date: | 2022 | Abstract: | Nowadays, web applications have become the most popular software among others and most of them use JavaScript. As a result, the need for JavaScript source code protection has increased significantly during these years. This thesis will examine some software protection through code obfuscation that resists reverse-engineering attacks. This discussion will focus on the Javascript code application by studying some basic obfuscation techniques in detail. We also present an obfuscation scheme to enhance the performance of the obfuscated code by combining all of the mentioned techniques in this study. Moreover, a JavaScript obfuscator is also developed to implement the mentioned techniques and our proposed scheme. The comparison among other commercial obfuscators and static analyzers is also enclosed in this study to evaluate the performance of the obfuscated code from our obfuscator and our proposed scheme. The outcome of this study aims to deliver the most basic knowledge that helps researchers and programmers to improve the protection of the application’s source code. |
