Title: | Domain-driven-design in developing multi-module monolith e-commerce web application | Authors: | Tran Phan Phuc Long | Issue Date: | 2023 | Abstract: | Developing a multi-module monolith website application following domain-driven-design (DDD) practices is a standard in software industry. The proposed application consists of a parent module that contains two child modules that each focuses on Business-to-business (B2B) and Business-to-customer (B2C) functionality requirements of an e-commerce platform and another module containing code for database generation and maintenance. The development process will involve the definition of the domain model, the implementation of the domain logic, the construction of application layers, and the integration of these modules. The application will be built using the DDD principles of focusing on the core domains, the separation of concerns, and the importance of the ubiquitous language. The application will be designed to promote maintainability, and the development process will involve extensive unit tests and integrate logging to ensure that the application meets the desired requirements. In this thesis, the monolith e-commerce system will be built using Java with heavy use of Spring framework. Design patterns and practices will be considered to develop business logic. Since the primary focus is the backend architecture, the system will use limited frontend technologies for ease of development. |
