Title: | Chromosome recognition and classification using deep learning | Authors: | Ngo Minh Thong | Keywords: | Chromosome recognition;Deep learning | Issue Date: | 2021 | Abstract: | The purpose of this thesis is to go through the knowledge of this topic and to implement a chromosome separation method which is called ChromSeg. The purpose of ChromSeg is to separate the chromosomes from a crossing-overlapping cluster. The method has a two stages framework to first recognize the segmentation of overlapping and non-overlapping areas, then using an algorithm to group and return the image of individual chromosomes. The method was introduced in 2020 and was the first to provide images of chromosomes to the end user instead of just suggesting segmentation like its previous methods. Some updates on the algorithm were also added to adapt the testing dataset of the thesis research. The result overall has a good performance.
